Operation In As Much

Oakmont Baptist Church teamed up with a teacher from Eppes Middle School to clean and refurbish the greenhouse at the school. A garden plot was also added, neatly tilled and bordered with wooden beams. Sidewalks were manicured and the whole interior of the grounds was given a good cleaning. Two new picnic tables were constructed and set in place by members of Oakmont. We have some great photos of the work which was Saturday, October 13.

Mrs. Boyer and her granddaughter provide expert assistance with the day's work.

Mrs. Malgorzata Twarog and her son Henry were partners with Oakmont for the workday.

Book Club

I have a couple of questions for you. Do you like to read good books? Do you like to read good books on topics that will help you and encourage you in your spiritual life? Do you like to talk with others about what you've read in your books?

Oakmont has a ladies' book club that meets for breakfast one Saturday morning every quarter. Lauri Johnson, from Oakmont, is our book discussion facilitator. Let me know if you'd like to join in with us for the October breakfast. The cost of the book is $10.00. Breakfast, on your own, is at K&W cafeteria. Contact me by email browncar@ecu.edu
I will deliver your book to the school.

Look What You Did

In 2006-2007 literally hundreds of Oakmonters contributed to projects through the Oakmont Eppes Middle School Partnership. See below a summary of projects beginning last August 2006 at the beginning of the school year through June 2007. The people of Oakmont participated in these activities because they want to support teachers, help children, contribute to the needs of the community, and to be the presence of Christ to children

and adults in Greenville. The teachers and staff of Eppes Middle School responded with gratitude and a gracious spirit that helped make this a successful partnership
